At King Living we understand your sofa is a key piece of furniture and should be looking its best!
To remove pilling from your sofa, you can use one of the following methods:
Fabric shaver or pill remover: A fabric shaver or electric pill remover is a popular and efficient way to remove pilling from your sofa. These devices are safe and do not affect the quality of the fabric. They have a rotating blade that gently shaves off pills without damaging the fabric. Turn on the device and gently glide it over the affected area, ensuring you apply only light pressure to avoid damaging the fabric.
Pumice stone: A pumice stone can also be used to remove pilling from your sofa. Gently rub the stone over the pilled area in one direction, being careful not to apply too much pressure. The pills will adhere to the stone, leaving your fabric looking even and smoother.
Lint roller or sticky tape: A lint roller or sticky tape can be used to remove smaller pills or loose fibres. Press the lint roller or sticky side of the tape against the affected area and lift it away, taking the pills with it. This method may not be as effective for more severe pilling but can help with minor issues.
Fabric comb: A fabric comb is specifically designed to remove pills from fabrics. Gently brush the comb over the pilled area in one direction, allowing the pills to be collected in the comb's teeth.
- Regular vacuuming and cleaning: Vacuuming regularly will remove dirt and grime and any loose fibres which will help prevent the pills forming over time.
Remember always to test your chosen method on a small, inconspicuous area of your sofa first to ensure it doesn't cause any damage. It's also essential to follow the care instructions for your sofa, as some fabrics may require special care or be more delicate than others.
